1. During the second half of the 20th century many housing estates were built forming new districts on the periphery and the city was extended to form a conurbation with Anglet and Biarritz: this agglomeration became the heart of a vast Basque-Landes urban area.

Durant la seconde moitié du XXe siècle, de nombreux grands ensembles sont construits, formant de nouveaux quartiers en périphérie, et la ville s'étend jusqu'à constituer une conurbation avec Anglet et Biarritz ; cette agglomération devient le cœur d'une vaste aire urbaine basco-landaise.
